Current developments:

Ruma’s R&D focus for these industries centres on the development of both conventional and swellable compounds for a wide range of High Pressure High Temperature (HPHT) applications.

Ruma’s engineering department develops new sealing concepts for the geothermal industry in collaboration with the customer. We then design various sealing elements on the basis of these concepts and the functional requirements. Once the prototypes have been produced we can test their functionality entirely in-house, using our own R&D testing equipment. Using failure analysis we can optimize the production process. We presently have several patents pending for new revolutionary sealing systems.

The rapidly changing roller market demands continuous development of new compounds. Higher and higher speeds and temperatures used in the different production processes of Ruma’s customers demand continuous improvement to create high-grade compounds with optimum chemical resistance and dynamic characteristics. The ultimate goal is to increase the life span of the rollers to minimize maintenance down-time at the customers’.
