Roller covering

Covering new and used rubber rollers is Ruma Rubber’s core business. We work for local and international customers. With more than 70 years experience, during which we have continuously invested in R&D, today we are one of the leading manufactures of coverings for re-covering rubber rollers, with many reputable companies among our satisfied customers.

The rubber coverings can be mounted on rubber rollers of a maximum length of 10,000mm, with a maximum diameter of 1800mm and up to 10 tonnes in weight. In consultation with our customers, we can deliver the rollers as a complete and ready to install product, including core, axles, bearings and rubber covering.

Initial inspection of rollers received for re-covering.

Removal of old covering, bearings, dirt, grease, rust, oil, etc.

The roller is inspected for porosity, dimensioning, imbalance, cracks, etc. Where necessary and possible we will consult with the customer before carrying out repairs.

To get the roller completely clean and acquire the right surface roughness it is sandblasted and degreased.

The application of a primer ensures perfect adhesion and prevents oxidation.

During this phase the coating is applied, i.e. the roller is covered (extrusion, conventional, cast, ribbon-flow).

The roller is now vulcanized under high pressure and temperature. The roller now acquires its definitive characteristics.

When the rollers have cooled they are ground according to specification. This department has all the equipment required to make any desired form, structure, groove, etc.
